WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Rich color of ready-to-harvest wheat fields with a bright chartreuse tint. Lovely nose of citrus rind zest, white florals, and wet stones. The beautifully balanced palate explodes initially with bright fruit followed by round, rich creaminess, and a clean, refreshing, and lengthy finish.
Vintage Notes: The 2021 vintage was all the way around a spectacular one. An abnormally dry spring in Willamette Valley meant we had to carefully manage the timing of plowing in our cover crop, so it did not offer too much competition for water with the vines. The decision to do so was rewarded when a summer heat wave in August struck and our Toil Estate Vineyard sailed through it without event. An absolutely gorgeous September allowed us to perfectly ripen this smaller-than-normal crop.
